On our way...to Texas

Hi everyone,
Well it is time to travel again. We are currently on our way to Houston, Texas to visit Grammy Aunt Carol, Daddy's aunt.
After spending a few days with her it is time to visit one of my favorite things - The Mickey Boat. This time I get to be an Oceaneer and play in the Oceaneer Club. There is a strong rumor that Belle comes by to read a story and Pluto has a pajama party. Sounds like fun to me.
Stay tuned for more updates.

Pardon the less than stellar pictures, daddy tried taking a picture on his IPad...not near as good as a film camera.
Love,
MH

Hello again! Shocking to have two posts so close together...my scribe must be bored. Or she is ignoring all of the other less fun things that she "should be" doing! OK, enough about her...more about me. I had a fantastic time with my cousin, Walker. He visited for 3 weeks. I am waiting for my turn in Hawaii! As you can see we enjoyed being together...
He spent the night with us a few times and we watched tv, played in the backyard, just had a great time hanging out! In the first pic, Walker looks a little sleepy. He played hard while he was here and had just woken up from a nap, I think. Walker is silly and I love him for it. Summer thus far has been so fun. July is my favorite month, as I've told Mommy and Daddy a number of times. I think it's the fireworks. The cool thing about living in this weird house is that we can walk up the street and see (at least partially) Vulcan and the fireworks. I'll post more about my swimming lessons later.
I wanted to leave you with this picture of my silly face because tonight I was telling Mommy (and showing her in the bathroom mirror) about the cool shapes I can make with my mouth...triangle, square, circle. We'll try to get a picture of that soon! Much love and sweet dreams, MH

Where to start...

Hi friends, Hope you are well! Well, you can see that my scribe failed to find more time to post anything. Since this is really a scrapbook, we're going to start our posts at Christmas (maybe it will cool us off a bit in this hot weather??). I asked Santa for a swing for my baby doll and really not much else. So, he was gracious and brought not only the swing but also a lovely giraffe named Jambo. He left it next to the Christmas tree and when I saw it, knowing how much Daddy loves giraffes too, I thought it was for Daddy, not me. He now lives in my room and occasionally people try to put him in pink tutus. I got an animal doctor dress up kit and as you can see taking care of my animals is very serious business! A new tradition for us was the "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake. A nice way to start off Christmas morning.
School is closed the week between Christmas and New Years. Mommy made a note somewhere to take that week off next year... In any case, I had so much fun with friends and family as part of our holiday celebrations. We had some friends come and swim! Such fun (for the two-legged family members!).
January and February were great (must have been but Mommy and Daddy don't remember what we did for New Years!!). March was particularly exciting because we (along with Biggie, GinGin, James, Ella, MV and Uncle John) went to North Carolina to meet Walker, Hudson and Sarah. A good week! Mommy and Daddy had a particularly memorable time sharing the bunk room with all of the children, but hey, who cares? James, Ella, Walker, and I had a ball!! (Mommy was loving my hair in the pic with all the cousins...)
Easter came and it was fun learning about why we really celebrate it. Mommy, Daddy and I had some pretty cool conversations about why Jesus died. Mrs. Ruth's Easter eggs that we got on Palm Sunday were super fun...one egg each day of Holy Week that had a Scripture reading in it.
April was not only the Easter month but the birthday month. Daddy, Ella, and then me. I must take a minute and tell you how much I am in love with my daddy. He really does everything right...takes me to the potty when we are out, puts me in my seat in the car, bathes me, reads to me, tucks me in. I just love him. And, sometimes Mommy is acceptable but for the most part, Daddy is THE one. (unless I'm sick or hurt). Happy birthday to Daddy and Ella! Mommy and Daddy kept asking me what I wanted to do for my birthday and for a while I would say that I just wanted a school party. Well, Mommy and Daddy learned that listening to me (sometimes) is not all bad. I had a 4 day birthday extravaganza!! It started on Thursday. Because school was closed on Friday (my actual birthday), I took cookie cake to school. Cookie cake is a funny story on its own...two tries by Publix and they sort of got it. (not one of Mommy's most non-Type A moments). Friday was my birthday and no one on Mommy's side knows the word "low key" for a birthday so we had another party. GinGin and Biggie brought my beautiful new kitchen that was once Mommy's. (Another story for another day). And, every girl needs a beautiful new Belle dress to dress in while in her kitchen!! GinGin worked hard and made Mommy cry (in a good way). Saturday...friends came to play so of course it was in celebration of me! Then comes Sunday. Before church I asked for the tv on at breakfast because "it is my birthday". At that point Mommy and Daddy knew detox from birthday was not going to be pretty. And, the party came that afternoon! It was a beautiful day and I had such fun Wald Park playground with my friends and the balloon lady. A nice ending to the birthday celebrations...but worth a notation to Mommy and Daddy that simple is better. :)
In May we had a wonderful visit with Grammy Carol, Daddy's aunt who lives in Texas. She was sweet enough to come for my dance recital despite my fever virus. I did get to dance and had such a good time with my buddy Meredith.
Shortly after my recital was the official start of summer...sprinkler time. Now that we have grass (a wonderful addition that Mommy and Daddy refer to as their anniversary gift to each other), it is so fun to help water it!
We had a boy theme going for a while. My friend Sam came to play and then my buddies Alex and Will came as well. Fun times!
In June we made a trip to Disney and I had so much fun!! Belle, Beast (who I kissed!), Splash Mountain, Tea Cups, seeing friends like Ms. Nancy, Sara and Rob, and Mr. Stroller John, the water slide at the resort. Such a great time!! Goofy's Barnstormer is still my favorite. Belle is still my favorite and I can't wait to go back. I think the pic with Daddy sums up my feelings about the trip! :)
So, for now, I'll end this whirlwind review of the year in June. Walker came to visit for 3 weeks and did we have such fun! His first week was Vacation Bible Camp. The second week we got to go to the zoo with Mop and Daddy. We rode camels and fed giraffes. An awesome day!! I miss him and hope to visit his house soon. (Mommy's note: At one point during his visit Walker told me that we needed to bring MH to his house and then Bill and I should leave. To island hop perhaps??? Haven't cleared that with Hudson and Sarah yet.)
I'll end with my sweet cousins...I'm blessed to have them. We will update on July soon. Much love and sweet dreams, MH

Too long--October and November

Hi all,

I think that has been the title for quite a few posts in the past year, but hey, we do what we can! Since September, we've been busy but having a great time. At the beginning of October, Mommy, Daddy, GinGin, and me all went to Disney. Mrs. Jamie and Mr. Clark got to meet us there as well because Mommy and Mrs. Jamie ran a long way..and it was after I went to sleep!! You can see me with Mommy and Mrs. Jamie and proudly wearing Mommy's medal from the race.

If you take a close look at the pink dress, you'll notice that it has a little bit of a 1970s aura to i...it was Mommy's! GinGin worked her magic and instead of buying a princess dress, I became "Vintage Cinderella" and got to eat lunch with Belle, Snow White, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella at Norway in Epcot. Belle is still my favorite! Oh, and I'm becoming quite adept at the iPhone...even in my princess dress! (Actually it was a bit of desperation on Mommy and Daddy's part--we had to wait for lunch and as you might imagine I wasn't at my most patient. Polyester is warm!)

Halloween: This year I was "Mary Hudson had a little lamb" compliments of GinGin! There was a parade at school and then I did a little bit of trick or treating in the neighborhood and then we drove to a few houses. Not the best day to not take a nap at school, but I made it.

So, fast forward to November: We went to the beach for Thanksgiving! It was so fun and this time, I loved the sand and even enjoyed the water (a little bit!). One of the highlights of my week was when Mommy, Daddy, and GinGin went shopping and I got to stay with Biggie. We colored and played and ate candy. Not too bad all in all!

Stay tuned for December and then hopefully my scribe will find time in her "busy" schedule to update a little more. I'm taller now, have many, many, many, many more words (Daddy is convinced that I have more than he does and that I like to use them all before 9 AM on Saturday mornings!). I love school, my friends, and "date night" (more about those later!).

Much love and sweet dreams,
MH

Ballet

I started ballet this week...loved it! I asked Daddy if I can go every day. Many thanks for Ms. Katie, one of my teachers, for taking a picture of me! :)

My bop-bop and big girl bed

Hi friends,

Lots of changes at my house. NO BOP-BOP! I gave it to my friend, Baby Eley. I was a very big girl. Mommy and Daddy talked to me for a while about giving up and one day, we all decided it was time. I got to go to the store and pick out a new bed for my babies (the other one broke. Really, I sat on it and it broke, but no biggie!). After picking out the bed for my babies, I decorated a very pretty bag for my bop-bop (paci for those who don't know the lingo) and we drove to Baby Eley's house. I gave the bag to her mommy and told Baby Eley that the bop-bop would take very good care of her when she needed it. It's a bop-bop for bigger kids, so she'll have to wait a little while to use it. I was a very big girl, only a few tears have been shed over the past few weeks.

So, after the bop-bop was safely in the care of another baby, we focused on the big girl bed. As you can see from the picture, Henry likes it to! I help Daddy or Mommy make it up every morning and I am a master at climbing in and out, even when I'm not supposed to. Gross motor skills, right? Not as important to Mommy and Daddy at 9 PM at night when I am supposed to be sleeping!

I look like a girl who needed an intervention, don't you think? Mommy kept asking me, "Mary Hudson, can you say 'addict'?" I could, but I chose not to. Bye-bye sweet bop-bop! I will miss you but I know you will be taking care of Eley like you took care of me.

Much love and sweet dreams!
