Life according to me. I was born on April 27, 2008 and have many things to say. My parents blogged about me before I was born and right after I arrived. I feel that the time has come for me to say it directly to you. I feel sure my parents will have something to say every now and then.
Another quick story that my scribe just remembered...
I have this really great tea set that was given to me by my good friends and God-grandparents, Eleanor and Gordon, for my birthday. This is a very special tea set because in addition to a singing and manner-teaching teapot (it says "More, please" and "thank you" before and after the tea is poured) and cups, there is a little plate that is a puzzle of sorts. There is a brownie, a cheesecake, and caramel cake shaped like a circle, triangle, and square. There are even little songs that go along with the accessories. I really like to have pretend tea parties with my tea pot. So, one Saturday morning, I decided that Henry needed to have tea with me, so I brought all of the tea pot, cups, and goodies to where Henry's perch was for the day. As you can see, he liked and was giving me kisses. I tried to give him cake, but he only licked it...
I hope you are well! It's been a little while, but things here for me have been going well. I'm doing great in my class at school. I'm learning all kinds of new words, including a multi-syllable version of "no". Very southern...
My current loves include my books, my baby dolls, and my bear (Pooh bear, of course). I will actually sit and let someone read a book to me now! And I like to toss all my books off of my bookshelf onto a pile on the floor. Mommy and Daddy are working on getting me to help put them back on the shelf. At bedtime, I have a series of about 5 books that I have to look at/read (depends on the night) before I go night-night.
As for the baby dolls, I have 9 (watch out Octo-Mom!) and I love each of them. Last week, Mommy spread out my blankets on the den floor and I proceeded to put each one of the babies face down on the floor. I then persuaded Mommy and Daddy to pat all of the babies' backs to help them fall asleep...very similar to how they do at school at naptime. Also, I like feeding them with the little bottle and giving them hugs and kissing. (There are more babies than are shown in the picture!)
As for my bears, I really love my Pooh bear. I am trying to say "Pooh Bear" but it comes out as "Pooh Pooh". He sleeps with me sometimes, along with his friend, Tigger. occasionally, I will snuggle up with my big Pooh and read a book to him. All kinds of fun! The video below shows how much I love Pooh.
P.S. My vital stats from my 18 month visit: Weight: 26 lb (50-75th percentile) Height: 31 3/4 in (50-75th percentile) Head circumference: 19 in (90th percentile)
Also, I won't have to have any more shots (besides flu--get your H1N1 shot!) until I start kindergarten!!!! Time flies...
I wanted to tell you about a few of my adventures with my friend Mary Carter. Mary Carter lived down the street until a few months ago. We love each other very much and get very excited to see each other. My mommy has been known to use MC as a reward for being calm in the car.
We've had lots of fun together so far...going to the park, playing in our garage, eating dinner together, taking baths together. Our most recent adventure was to the grocery store. Check out the videos...
As you can see, MC is a little older than I am, but we have a good time! I look a little unsure of what's going on with the second car seat in the back of our car...obviously there are some turf issues! Just kidding, I loved it!!
Haven't said it in a while, but I sure am having fun in this big world with people that I love.
Well, it's been a busy month...let's see if I can summarize all of our adventures.
School: I am having a FANTASTIC time! Most days when Mommy or Daddy pick me up I am very dirty...my hair, face, clothes, all dirty because I have had such a good time. A few times Mommy has taken my shoes and socks off in the car on the way home and I have playground bark on my feet. How does that happen? Yesterday GinGin picked me up from school and I was a very dirty girl--dirt in my hair, on my clothes, etc. Hey, I'm having a good time! Last Friday I had my first playground injury--I face planted in the bark. I had bark in my nose and a nice bloody scratch on my face. I'm tough.
At school, we sing, play on the playground, take naps on the napmats, eat sitting in chairs at tables, paint, draw, and read. One of my most favorite activities is art. I love to paint. I have made all kinds of pictures with finger paints. This week we focused on the color "brown" and painted a bear, ran cars through the paint, and then I made a beautiful collage with paint AND markers. Mommy and Daddy have not embraced experiencing my new-found skills at home yet. I'll keep you posted...
The Beach: A few weeks ago, we went to the beach with our friends from Atlanta. I had a great time with Drew, Avery, and Baby Tyler, Drew's brother. At first I did not like the beach, although I did like the birds. I wanted to pet them. I would even try to walk up to them with my hand out like Daddy and Mommy have taught me to do with doggies, but it never worked. When we walked onto the beach, I turned into a very clingy, whiny little girl who didn't want to be put down. I didn't like to sit or walk in the sand, go in the water, or really hang out in the pool. I did like to see it all, just admire from a distance. A teeny bit frustrating for Mommy and Daddy, but finally, on Thursday, I decided that if Daddy would just dig me a very deep hole, I could sit in it and play for hours. And then I discovered how fun it is to slide down the side of the hole. What a time!! Do you like my bikini?
Cousin Walker, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Hudson: I got to play with my Cousin Walker who lives in Hawaii. He was fun and very sweet to me. Uncle Hudson and Aunt Sarah were alot of fun too. They came for a very short visit a few weeks ago. Notice the silly picture with Biggie and GinGin. According to Walker, I was not very sweet to him because I didn't share with him...admittedly I tried to rip him out of the chair a few times because I wanted it, but I'm working on it. Looking forward to seeing them in Disney at Thanksgiving!!
Tantrums: Most of the time I'm a pretty even little girl. I'm pretty content (not calm, just content, two very different things). However, recently I have felt the need to express myself much more freely. For example, if I can't get Mommy or Daddy to do what I want when I want I like to throw myself on the floor, wail, scream, kick, and cry. Thankfully it doesn't happen too often, but when it does it is loud.
New tricks: I love my horsey...I like to bounce on it almost as much as I like jumping on my bed. I give very good hugs. Last Sunday night, Mommy was holding me when we were about to leave Leonardo's and I just decided that she needed a big ole hug...neck squeeze and all. Henry and I still love each other very much, although I am feeling a little more free to swat him on the head. Work in progress...
TV/DVDs are not really a big thing for me. I like the song at the beginning of "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" but that's about it. I dance to it. Music is huge. Mommy sings to me in the car and we listen to a CD. I haven't figured out that the pause between the songs is only temporary; I get upset and start signing "more".
Well, there is lots more to say, but I'll save it and try to write a little more often. All in all, I'm doing great, getting big, and having fun! And, in Mommy's very unbiased opinion, I'm a pretty darn sweet girl.
