My first Christmas party

Hi!

I am a little bit late in giving you a report about how the party was. I had a very good time. I met some new people and got to look at the pretty lights on the tree. There were lots of presents under the tree so I hope that boys and girls will be very happy and have fun with their new toys!

Here is a picture of me with Daddy and Mommy. No Henry Doggie(he was at home sleeping!), but we will have our real family picture made later. :)

Love and kisses and sweet, sweet dreams!

My first Christmas tree

A Christmas tree...in July? Yes, that's right. I got to see my first Christmas tree today. It has lots of pretty ornaments and LIGHTS (have I mentioned how much I like lights?) GinGin and Biggie (Mommy's mommy and daddy) are having a party on Friday to celebrate Christmas in July. I stayed with GinGin a little bit this afternoon while Mommy worked. I had the best time; I flirted with the tree kinda like I flirt with the fan. And I got to see my cousins, James and Ella, and my Aunt Mary Virginia. It was a good day!

Mommy and Daddy say that we are going to go pick out some toys for another little boy or girl to have on Christmas, just in case they don't have as much as I might. They say it is called "sharing". I know that we celebrate Jesus' birthday at Christmas, so it makes sense to have a party, bring gifts, and to share! I think I have a lot to learn about this holiday...but it sounds like I am going to like it. I'm still trying to figure out why we're doing this in July, but like I said about the baptism day, grown-ups just like to have a party! I'll let you know how the party goes!

Daddy didn't have his camera with him, but I'll post pictures soon.

Sweet dreams!

Much love,
MH

My Pumpkin Seat

Hi!

For those of you who don't call it a "pumpkin seat", this is my car seat. Not sure why Mommy and Daddy call it this; it works though. Maybe because I am their little pumpkin? Not sure! :)

Anyway, I'd like to tell you about how fond I am of my seat. It is really beautiful--brown with light green trim. A little masculine, but hey, I can just wear lots of pink to offset it. I sit in it when I'm in the car, watching the trees go by or staring at myself in the mirror. I sit it in when people are eating and just have to sit by and drool, waiting for my turn to eat (Mommy and Mrs. Elizabeth did it to me today when they ate at Panera--they had a cookie and I just had to watch. One day...)

My most favorite place to be in my seat is in my crib. Yes, my crib. I sleep in my pumpkin seat that Mommy and Daddy place in my crib. Hey, at least I'm in my room! As Mommy says (actually many people have said this to her), I can't sleep in it forever! See, I like to move when I sleep. Swaddling..ah, no. Can't have it. I MUST have my hands and feet FREE!! Otherwise, I get very sad and then I get very mad. And when I get mad, even Henry gets upset. (He tries to get into my room if I am crying and then when someone is holding me and I'm crying, he comes to lick me. Sweet big brother!)

Don't worry--I can sleep in my bed. I just prefer my seat! I'll keep you posted on my progress to feel the mattress under my bottom....

Off to sleepy time!

(By the way, I told Mommy that the picture of me has nothing to do with my commentary on my pumpkin seat, but she didn't care...she wanted you to see my little grin. We are working on getting one of a full-fledged toothless grin like I gave to a total stranger today at Panera. I'll try to cooperate with the camera!)

My first trip away from home

Hi everyone,

Sorry it has taken me a little while to write. My scribe (Mommy) has been waiting for my photographer (Daddy) to load some new pictures and video. And he did today!
Thanks, Daddy!

So, I made my first road trip this past weekend. We went to Atlanta for a wedding party for Sarah and Zach (Sarah is Daddy's first cousin). I got to see my surrogate Grandma Aunt Carol, Uncle Jack, and "Aunt" Martha (Daddy's other cousin). All of these folks live in Houston so I hadn't gotten to meet anyone but Carol. It was fun! They were very nice to me, held me, made me laugh, and of course, fed me (how can I not like them if they do that??) We had a good time and rumor has it that I will be flying on an airplane later in July to see them again for the big wedding.

We also got to visit with Mr. Danny, Mrs. Jen and the bump on Mrs. Jen's belly that they tell me will be a new friend for me! I'm excited to meet Baby Young! :)

In addition to sleeping in a hotel room for the first time, I got to get into this gigantic bathtub. Mommy and Daddy called it a "swimming pool". They put this funny thing on me called a bathing suit that showed off my belly button. I had ruffles on my bottom, too! At first I wasn't quite sure what to thing, but after a few minutes I really liked it. Daddy whirled me around in a cirle; Mommy held me close (mainly because she was terrified that she would drop me or something crazy like that! Silly Mommy! But I do like to wiggle...)

As you can see from my sleepy picture, I had a great time! And was a tired girl. Isn't my Daddy cute? I like to smile at him...a lot!

Well, I have a lot more to say, but it's time to go night-night. I'll write again soon. Sweet dreams to all!

Happy Birthday America!

I hope that everyone had a very nice 4th of July! I spent the day hanging out with my family. We went to my Grandpa and Grace's house (Daddy's daddy and stepmommy) and hung out by the pool. I wore my bathing suit for the first time. Daddy didn't get any pictures of me in it because I kept making dirty pants...I'll stop there.

Anyway, as you can see, I tried not to get too much sun--thanks to GinGin for getting me the hat!! James and Ella (my cousins) were there as well. It was a good day! When I get bigger, Mommy and Daddy will take me to see the big pretty fireworks and listen to the music.

Happy Birthday to a wonderful country!!

Off to dream...

2 months old

Hi!

I turned two months old on Friday. I started the day by going to see Dr. Hodges for my check up. I had to get 4 shots, but Ms. Tammy, the nurse, was very sweet to me. Daddy and Mommy said I was a good girl. I weigh 12 lbs, 8 oz and am 22 1/4 inches long (keep in mind that I have some tall genes inside of me!). If you remember, I entered the world at 6 lbs, 11 oz, so I am doing great! Eating is one of my favorite things to do, along with playing with my Henry dog. Because of my fantastic progress in the length and weight department (I had to move into the 6 month size), I got to go on a shopping spree at the Carter's outlet. I have all kinds of new play clothes!

I am noticing the world a lot more. I really like the fan, the sky, trees, faces, smiles, and music. Mommy and Daddy play all different kinds of music for me and I really like to dance. I smile at as many things as I can...the fan, Henry, the bears and elephants on my mobiles, people. People like to tickle my chin and it makes me laugh!

Off to dream...thanks for checking on me. Lots of love.
